New Raptor Rehab established

Well I have been asked why I would open a raptor rehab center...

I am a master falconer in Southwest Colorado and learned a few months back that the Montrose Raptor rehab center had closed. This means that the wildlife officers are having to dispatch any birds of prey or the vet was having to get special permission from the feds to hold anything longer than 24 hours for treatment, and it has to be special like a Golden Eagle to be kept. My love for wildlife and the sport of falconry, a little thinking and a WHOLE lot of paperwork, I decided to take on this endeavor.

There are no grants for this type of business so all of this is coming out of my pocket.

If you would like to make a contribution to help save these majestic birds of prey please visit any Wells Fargo bank and tell them you would like to make a donation or send a check payable to Southwest Avian Protection Service to the address on our website. All contribution will go toward food (rats, mice, quail, beef heart..) medication and other necessary needs. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns. We are a 501 (3)(c).
